Haul | IKEA

I have just had my bedroom painted and wanted to get some cheap extras/decorations to perk the room up a bit.  I hadn't been to IKEA in over a years so I was due for a trip.  And who doesn't like a shop around IKEA?...probably quite a few people!  Anyway, I saw a video on Lily Pebbles Youtube channel that mentioned some throws etc from IKEA and liked what I saw so I thought they may have some suitable things for my bedroom too.

As you do when wandering around IKEA and their strange traditions (big yellow/blue bags, meatballs and duvets that aren't the conventional size) pick up a few things that you don't need!  I had to be very strict with myself and not get carried away.  It's such a big place (I went to Croydon)!  I saw lots of cheap throws and cushions in a huge variety of colours and was pleased to see the perfect colours for my now (Pale Amethyst and Grape...Laura Ashley paints) 'grown-up pink' room.  I bought a Cream Throw and a Purple Bedspread that go brilliantly together and in my room. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the bedspread.  I could see that the throw might fray slightly but it's not got much of a purpose apart from making my bed look nice so I don't mind.  I really do think that it's not worth
spending £££ on something that's not being used all the time so IKEA is perfect for things just for decoration purposes.

I also picked up some cushion covers and the inner cushions (Purple Velvet Cushions) which are great for my bed.  The floral cushion in the middle is also from IKEA but I couldn't find it on the website.  It's a lovely cushion..the perfect centrepiece that pulls everything together!
In the huge lamp section of IKEA, I bought this Purple Lamp which goes brilliantly with the lighter walls and darker cushions and throws.

The other floral bedspread in the photo is from Monsoon.  Unfortunately they don't sell it anymore.

A lot of the bloggers that I read seem to have this Pot.  I saw it in the plant section of IKEA at the very end and picked it up.  I think this one itself is bigger than the ones normally used for things like make-up brushes but I'm sure i'll find a use for it!

Hope you enjoyed reading this post.

Purple Nail Varnish + Midi Ring

During the Summer, on a shopping trip to London, I went into my favourite shop ever, & Other Stories on Regents Street.  I absolutely love the beauty section in this shop.  It's very well laid out in a bathroom style.  I just love being in the shop!  I saw this nail varnish, 'Cambric Purple' and was immediately drawn to it, since my favourite colour is purple.  It's an amazing bright colour that really stands out in an outfit.  & Other Stories have a great nail colour selection and now that they've put the nail varnishes online, I may be making another order ('Armure Plum' looks like a fantastic shade for Autumn).  I also bought some body lotion in Fig Fiction which has now been repurchased online...it smells amazing!  The names for all their products, I think, are so creative.

I bought a set of midi rings from Topshop a couple of weeks ago and think this gold one goes really well with the purple nail varnish.

Hair | Sachajuan Leave-in Conditioner

Whilst wandering the pages of Cult Beauty, I was particularly interested in buying some hair products.  More specifically, the Sachajuan Leave-In Conditioner.  It is quite expensive at £21, but well worth forking out the extra pennies.

I use it on damp hair after i've washed my hair and before I apply my heat protectant (currently a Tresemme one).  I then blow dry my hair.  This leave-in conditioner seems to be very effective at decreasing the drying time of my hair, which is an added benefit.  It is also a great detangler!

Once dry, my hair looks so healthy.  My hair has a lovely shine and feels very soft.  The conditioner has a light floral scent that doesn't linger on the hair for very long.  I use it everyday and you can spray and spray and it will not weigh the hair down or make it greasy which is fantastic.

Yesterday, i tried using this when I didn't have time to use my normal conditioner in the shower.  I was really pleased with the results.  I could really tell that it was helping the quality of my hair. It was so soft and was generally looking better and healthier.

The packaging is really simple.  It has a dark bottle to stop the liquid inside from changing (oxidising is the sciencey word!) when in contact with the Sun.  The simple white labels are very effective.

I have never tried a Sachajuan product before but I have to say I am very tempted to try something else from the brand (Ocean Mist or Hair Repair I'm coming for you!).

I am very happy with my Cult Beauty product.  This Sachajuan Leave In conditioner is definitely a cult product in my book.

Quick-fire Review | Soap & Glory 'Heel Genius'

I am on my second tube of this cream from Soap & Glory, so I think you can already tell how much I like this product.  I inherited rough heels from my Mum (thanks Mum!) and this is the only thing I’ve tried that actually helps.

It’s a blue cream with a thick consistency.  It has a very pleasant smell which you would expect from Soap & Glory.  I use it most nights, focusing on applying on the heel but use all over the foot.  I then put some fluffy socks on and let the cream do it’s magic overnight.  Thick cream + thick socks = smooth soles! Yippee!

In addition to ‘Heel Genius’ I exfoliate my feet once a week using the same exfoliator I use for my body. (Note to self: buy a foot scrub!).  The body exfoliator does the job to remove dead skin cells though!

Wonder how long it will be before I’m onto my third tube?

Review | Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks

These are a new 'relaunch' from Rimmel and a good one I might add.  I was in Boots a few days ago and headed straight for the Rimmel stand.  There was a great colour selection available.  I bought two shades: Let’s Get Naked and Glam Plum Fulham.

Let’s Get Naked is a peachy nude, which is great for everyday, whereas Glam Plum Fulham is a bright plum, perfect for Autumn.

The pigmentation is great but I find dabbing on the lips and staining them and then building the colour up works the best for me and for the lipstick to last.  The texture is relatively moisturizing and can be built up to be very glossy.

They have the usual Rimmel cheap lipstick smell, which I don’t particularly like, but it doesn’t last long.

The packaging is a huge improvement and looks quite expensive.  It is simple with a sturdy shape and the purple and silver looks great on my dressing table.

Overall, these lipstick launches are a great improvement for Rimmel who are the ‘drugstores’ best when it comes to lip products.  First apocalips, now a great quality lipstick.
